Creative Rides Classic Car Auction

Auctions play a significant role in the second-hand automotive market; typically, these events are not head-turners. However, Creative Rides have an exceptional line-up at their classic car auction this Friday, the 3rd of December.

Creative Rides is a classic car dealer specialising in unique classics, and they love their left-hand drive cars. This auction, however, is typically more classically British, and they have an impressive collection for anybody looking to buy a true old-school classic.

From Triumphs to MGs and Jaguars to Minis, there will be something for any British motoring enthusiast. Although there is a sizeable British turnout, there will be a few other European brands, with Lancia and Citroen in the mix. Creative Rides love its muscle cars, so there will also be a few notable American machines. All vehicles coming under the hammer deserve a spot in a museum, but it's refreshing to see new owners cherishing the past.

Some British classics are up for grabs, including a 1971 Lotus Elan Coupe 2+2, a 1972 Triumph GT6 MK2 and a 1963 Triumph TR3A. From MG, there will be a 1965 Midget up for grabs and a unique 1947 MG TC. Jaguar has a few cars in the pot, with a stunning 1969 E-Type series 2 and a 1994 Jaguar XJ6. There will even be an Aston Martin Vantage DB6 MK2 RHD. And, of course, a selection of Austin Healeys will be available too.

A few cars to look out for from the rest of Europe are the two VW Kombis, one from 1975 and another from 1969. BMW has a few special options with their 1985 333i E30 recreation, 1991 325i EVO 2 E30, 1971 30 CSI E9 and 1991 M5 E34. Mercedes, too, has a lot to offer, with a 1959 190 SL and a 1982 280SL R107. Of course, Alfa Romeo has many options, from a Giulietta to a 2L GTV Bertone with a Giulia Super in between.

American cars to look out for include two 1956 Chevrolet 3600 Pickups, a 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 and a 1967 Chevrolet Impala SS Convertible. If racing classics are more to your taste, there is also a selection available, including a 60s Alfa Stepnose GTA Recreation race car, a 90s TVR Chimaera race car, a 70s Datsun 120 GX Coupe race car and a 1972 Ford Escort MK1 race car. All exciting options for the more vintage track day enthusiasts.

With so many cars on offer, it is hard to fall in love with only one. My favourites on offer are the 1979 Ford Escort MK2 RS 2000 and the 1988 BMW 535i E28. But I'm sure you will have a few favourites from this impressive collection. The auction is on the 3rd of December at the Creative Rides showroom in Johannesburg. The auction kicks off at 11 am, so If you want to live that dream of driving one of your childhood classics, this is your chance.
