Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition now in Mzansi

Land Rover has given its Range Rover Sport SVR an even higher dose of motorsport derived technology with the addition of extensive carbon fibre detailing. The new SVR Carbon Edition is now available to purchase, thus taking the flagship model to the next level for Mzansi customers.

The new Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition’s exterior standout feature includes a visible carbon fibre in an exposed centre section of the bonnet, that also features functional integrated cooling vents. The front bumper has been reprofiled to improve brake cooling, and carbon trim has been liberally applied to the surrounds of the front valance’s vents, main grille, lower grille surrounds, side mirror covers, rear tailgate finisher and even the engine cover.

Lightweight 22-inch alloy wheels finished in Gloss Black, together with body-coloured detailing at the rear and an SVR badge replacing conventional Landy badge finishes off the SVR Carbon Edition’s exterior package. 

Inside, SVR Carbon Edition-branded scuff plates illuminate when doors open, while  lightweight SVR Performance seats are said to deliver a significant 30kg weight saving over the standard Range Rover Sport’s items. Finished in high-quality perforated Windsor leather, the seats are heated in the front as well as the rear, and feature embossed SVR logos in the headrests. The front Performance seats also afford improved legroom in the rear thanks to their slim, supportive design.

A 19-speaker Meridian Surround Sound System, which combines 825 watts, a dual-channel subwoofer and Trifield technology continues the high-performance theme with a thrilling audio experience for occupants in all five seats. 

Under the specially-finished bonnet is the most powerful engine in Land Rover’s history – a bellowing 5.0-litre supercharged V8 producing 423kW and 700Nm. That’s enough to power the Range Rover Sport SVR from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds and to a top speed of 283km/h.

Range Rover Sport SVR Carbon Edition pricing is set at R2 831 000. As with all Land Rovers, the Carbon Edition is offered with a standard Land Rover Care 5-year/100 000 km maintenance plan and factory warranty.
