First Aston Martin DBX707 roars off the production line

Roughly two months since the initial unveiling of the Aston Martin DBX707, the first unit of the SUV has finally left the assembly line at St Athan, Wales.

More than 100 new skilled automotive technicians have been hired by Aston Martin to aid in the production of the DBX707 as the first Welsh-built production car for almost 50 years.

“Aston Martin is immensely proud to be manufacturing industry-leading products like DBX707 from a world-class facility in Wales, and we are delighted to see the very first model completed”, says Michael Straughan, Chief Operating Officer of the brand.

“The DBX707 is powered by an AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that gushes out 520 kW and a stunning 900 Nm of torque”

The DBX707 is powered by an AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that gushes out 520 kW and a stunning 900 Nm of torque. It completes a sprint from 0-100 km in 3.3 seconds while shifting through a 9-speed ‘wet-clutch’ automatic transmission.

The first DBX707 customer car was inspected by dignitaries such as the Secretary of State for Wales, Simon Hart MP and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Wales, David Davies MP.

The SUVs will be shipped to more than 50 countries around the world over the coming months.

“The initial reaction from customers and media has been tremendous, and as we ramp-up DBX707 production at St Athan, it is fantastic that we have also had the opportunity to grow our team and create more employment opportunities for people from the local community.”

“Wales has a rich tradition of industrial and engineering excellence and we’re excited to be forging the future and to support that proud heritage,” Straughan continued.

Local availability and pricing haven’t been confirmed but expect a hefty price tag, if we’re honest.
