The award-winning Jaguar I-Pace has been on sale in Mzansi since 2019 as the British marque's answer to the growing electric vehicle segment.

As fresh as it is in the market and possibly not in dire need of a makeover, Jaguar has nonetheless introduced a refreshed model that is now available for purchase at local dealers .

The facelifted Jaguar I-Pace now boasts a standard 11 kW onboard charger that lets buyers with access to three-phase electricity charge the I-Pace quickly. When connected to the 11 kW wall box, 53 km of driving range can be added in just an hour while a full recharge will take 8.6 hours.

The lesser 7 kW wall box can add up to 35 km per hour with the full recharge only happening after 12.75 hours.

When rapid charging is required, the 60 kW charger will add up to 76 km in 15 minutes while the 100 kW will add up to 127 km in 15 minutes.

The new Jaguar I-Pace can travel up to 470 km before the battery pack runs out of power.

Power output remains unchanged at 294 kW and 696 Nm, enough for a 0 -100km/h in 4.8 seconds and onto an electronically limited top speed of 200 km/h.

In terms of exterior styling changes, the new Jaguar I-Pace spawns a new Atlas Grey grille tip finish is that is honoured by a new Bright Pack option. The Bright Pack adds a Noble Chrome grille surround, Atlas Grey door mirror caps, Satin Chrome window surrounds and Atlas Grey for the rear diffuser.

Buyers can also add the contemporary Black Pack option that comes with gloss black finish to the rear badges while the refurbished paint palette now features colours such as Caldera Red, Portofino Blue and Eiger Grey.

The interior is fitted with an optional Meridian 3D Surround System with TrifieldTM technology that featured two additional speakers, now totalling 16.

The infotainment system comes courtesy of a new Pivi Pro infotainment system that lurks a 12.3 -inch high-def virtual instrument cluster plus a 10-inch and 5-inch lower touch screens.

According to Jaguar, the Pivi Pro is easy to use, and its powerful processor is supported by a built-in back-up battery meaning navigation initialisation takes just a few seconds while its flat menu structure makes navigating the system easier than the outgoing model’s.

The navigation itself uses a self-learning algorithms to optimise routing, voice guidance even knows to remain quiet when you’re travelling through areas you know, and maps will always be up to date, thanks to software-over-the-air (SOTA) functionality.

There is also an optional wireless device charging pad located beneath the centre console. Wireless charging also includes signal boosting, ensuring the phone’s signal remains stronger for longer. A Smartphone Pack with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard on all derivatives, as is a dual modem embedded SIM and Bluetooth technology which can pair two phones simultaneously.

The driver assistance systems have also been improved and now consist of a new 3D Surround Camera.
