Dubai Police get a Bugatti Veyron
Don’t say you didn’t see this coming. Over the last few weeks TopGear reported on some of the super impressive, supercars that have been rolled out of the Dubai Police precinct.
Just when you thought they’ve blew their seemingly ocean deep budget, out comes this sleek new addition – a Bugatti Veyron, arguably the fastest car on the planet.
Not only making them the envy of police officers around the world but car loving enthusiasts as well. Keep in mind that this car was named the TopGear “Car of the Decade” from 2000 – 2009. So it must be capable of doing something right.
The Veyron is the latest and most expensive in their fleet of customized cop cars which includes two Ferrari FFs, a Lamborghini Aventador, Mercedes SLS, a Bentley Continental GT, a Chevy Camaro SS as well as an Aston Martin One-77. If it’s attention they’re after, then mission accomplished.
Dubai Police Chief Dhahi Khalfan Tamim tweeted a picture of this *R13.5m car which boasts a mighty 746kW and shoots from 0 – 100kph in 2.5 seconds. It reaches a top speed of 431kph – making it just that much tougher for criminals to escape, a bit excessive though since the speed limit in Dubai is set at 120kph.
For now it seems as though the car may be geared toward a tourist attraction than an actual criminal catcher, but you never know.
