Tanner Foust Edition Focus ST

15 March, 2013 | by Rowan Horncastle

One of the greatest honours as a racing driver is having your name put into little letters and placed on the back of a car as a special edition. People who are familiar to this treatment include; Stirling Moss, who has his own edition Mercedes Mclaren SLR, Michael Schumacher and his go-faster edition Fiat Seicento and Emerson Fittipaldi with, err, a special edition Chevrolet Omega. But now there’s one more to add to that list: our very own Tanner Foust from TopGear USA

The three-time U.S. rallycross champion, two-time X Games gold medalist and double Formula Drift champion’s name now adorns the ‘Tanner Foust Edition FordFocus ST’ by COBB Tuning.

It’s a tricked up ST with a re-worked electronic brain, intercooler, exhaust system, suspension components and now with over 224Kw. So, quite an overhaul. They’ve even changed the looks. Not to mimic Tanner’s innocent little face, but adorned the car with new carbon fibre aero bits, a custom grille, a few stickers and a new wheel and tire package. It looks mean. And if your name is also Tanner Foust, it’ll suit you perfectly.

“I’ve been a fan of hot hatches since I was a kid living in Scotland,” said Tanner. “This special edition Focus STis what happens when I get to take an already great hot hatch and push its performance limits to make it exactly what I wanted as a kid and what I would like to drive on the street.”

If you’re a MASSIVE Tanner fan, you can buy components individually or as a full package from a selection of Ford US dealers or from directly from COBB Tuning themselves.

So, now a US TG presenter has had a special edition. What car should Jeremy have as a special edition?
