R40m Vulcano to make UK debut
Like a dormant volcano destined for fiery eruption, so too was this once-off Icona Vulcano built with the intent of being hotter than lava.
This hyper-exotic, R40 million car, is scheduled to appear at the exclusive auto-themed Salon Privé show in London, early in September.
Picture high-end automobile manufactures, space-age concept cars and potential customers who can actually afford toys that come with such surreal price tags.
“Icona is a very exciting new brand and we are delighted that it has chosen Salon Privé for the UK debut of the Vulcano,” said David Bagley, sales director for the exquisite event.
Notice the Vulcano’s sleek lines and striking features. Look familiar – perhaps even Berlinetta –ish? Well, dear supercar enthusiast, that’s because it was engineered by renowned Scuderia Ferrari technical director Claudio Lombardi.
This scintillating machine was first unveiled at the Shanghai auto show in April, creating an echo of ooh’s and aah’s around the motoring sphere.
The Italian designed V12 two-seater is capable of blasting out 708kW and reach a top speed of 350kph. Niche one.
However, I wonder how many of you can, or are willing to, pay double the price of a Bugatti Veyron, ten-times the price of a Ferrari 458 Italia or Lamborghini Gallardo. All of which suddenly seem way more attainable.
So, the million dollar question remains… Is any car really worth such an enormous amount of dollars, euros or yen – especially from a brand that’s fairly unknown? In this instance – we’ll leave that entirely up to you to decide.
For now, we’ll wait and see if Stig gets invited…
