Three’s company…

Richard Hammond has just confirmed that he’ll be present at this year’s TopGear Festival at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in June.  He’ll join forces with co-presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May for the highly anticipated event.

This makes Durban one of only four cities in the world that will play host to all three presenters, as well as mystery driver The Stig, live this year. Accompanying them will be motoring icon and two-time Formula One World Champion Mika Häkkinen.

“When I discovered the Top Gear Festival in Durban was going to be bigger and better and more explosive than ever there was no way I could miss it – I certainly didn’t want The Oaf and The Bore to have all the fun,” said Hammond.

Amongst others, spectators will get to enjoy roaring rally cars, hot rods and hot hatches as well as an improved street circuit. Other highlights include tandem drifting, an extreme ‘Action Zone’ and the ‘Souped Up’ car competition. Are you planning on going to this year’s show? Tell us, what unique aspect do you think Hammond brings to the event? Aside from giving his co-presenters quirky names…
