The Fiesta ST now speaks German

We all enjoy it when cars get taken in for fine-tuning and get transformed into faster, better looking performance models. So is the case with the Ford Fiesta ST, the baby hot-hatch that now comes in a euro-spec version.

Production has begun on the racy new Ford Fiesta ST which gets powered by a 1.6litre petrol engine. The Fiesta is able to dash from 0-100km/h in 6.9 seconds, delivering132kW and 240Nm of torque. Meaning this eager beaver allows you to drive faster, while enhancements in the steering and brakes ensure better handling.

After the latest petrol hike, fuel efficiency remains a sore topic. Ford claims its Fiesta ST delivers 5.9 litres/100km. The good news is of all the second-generation Fiesta ST has been confirmed for launch in South Africa later this year. Could this be a suitable match for the Polo GTI? We anticipate a show down.
