Ferrari 458 Speciale unveiled in Frankfurt
Quite a special sports car this, even if the men at Maranello had to go forth and say so themselves.
Ferrari recently unleashed a variant of their popular 458 Italia, at this week’s Frankfurt Auto Show in Germany. Well done to them on making an already athletic-looking sports car even more striking.
Lighter and more aggressive, the 458 Speciale was created for the driver in search of “an even more focused sports car that offers extreme driving emotions.”
The 4.5-liter engine has been tweaked to push out 445kW – making it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 on the market. Racing from 0-100 in 3.0 seconds, it reaches a top speed of 325kph, Potent isn’t it?
It’s dual clutch, seven-speed gearbox aims to make shift times lighting fast with Ferrari claiming they’ve used “the same machinery and processes as employed by the F1 team.” While a Side Slip Angle Control system and aerodynamic advancements ensure not only the performance but also exclusivity you’d come to expect from the brand.
Unit production for the 458 Speciale is yet to be confirmed and for now, its price is anyone’s guess.
Quite evident, is the car’s blue and white race strips – one line short of being a Norwegian flag. But if Scandinavia is not on your to do list, how would you possibly know that, and frankly why would you care… It’s a Ferrari after all, and a feisty one at that.
