Merc’s new C63 AMG, Edition 507
Just when you thought the C63 AMG was too potent to pound, the masterminds at Mercedes-Benz decided to conjure up an even better version of the same car. And what have they come up with?
Say hello to the amped-up C63 AMG “Edition 507”. The new addition to its high-performance C-Class range scheduled to be unveiled at next month’s much anticipated Geneva motor show.
Your speculation is correct that ‘Edition 507′ stands for the extra oomph, which is found underneath the Merc’s bonnet. It features ‘technology transfer’ from the SLS, which is a nice way of saying it’s received an AMG pedicure.
6.3-litre V8 engine enhancements sees power rise to 373kW and torque to 610Nm. Available in the coupe, saloon and estate body, the C63 AMG catapults from 0-100 in 4.2 seconds, doing a top speed of 280Kph. Improved suspension and braking means that the already superb machine will be faster and more fun to drive.
Mercedes has claimed its new ‘Edition 507′ will target the “ambitious drivers who take pleasure in top-class technology”. We’d like to believe it will appeal to drivers who want to destroy their rear tyres and hear the engine roar as they monster down the highway. Why else would Merc have built this car?
